Although travel is possibly the greatest inspiration for photography, it is not always possible to get away. You may be on a tight schedule with work, bound by social commitments, or simply on a tight budget. Yet you have the bug! You want to take and make more photographs – so what, then?
Be Resourceful. Any successful person will be able to tell you stories in life and in their chosen path where their ability to be resourceful paid off big. I’ve mentioned the importance and value of using your imagination and being creative – and being resourceful fits right in. How many hoops might you have to jump through to figure something out? You will naturally be resourceful if you do anything and everything it takes to reach the goals you set for yourself.
To be sure, there are many other paths to the life of inner discovery. Numerology is only one of many. And numerology has not always been used for Soul Purpose. There are those who use numerology for exterior motives, such as learning about your innate gifts-talents that you can use to get on in life. Some people use numerology for business reasons, wanting to know what would be a favorable name for a business, a favorable business address or telephone number, or the best date for signing contracts. Some people even use numerology for playing the ponies. These are pursuits of the ego. I don’t recommend numerology for such actions.
The images and symbolism of Koi have spread far beyond the shores of Japan. This colorful and popular fish has found its way into all forms of Western Art. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also make your own quilt pattern, using the drawing feature of your word processor. Play around with colors, textured patterns and images. For example, let’s say you want a rose-themed quilt. Collect some images of roses to insert in a diagonal pattern of available squares, then try various colors inspiration for photography each square, alternating a rose color with a pink or dark green, until you’re pleased with the balance of your composition. It’s then easy enough to find a fabric in a rose motif, which you can then applique on to the squares.
While you’re out being a tourist, watch out for cafeteria food. Stick to simple salads and fruit. Or make time in your schedule to stop in a real restaurant for healthy alternatives to the salty, overly processed food that’s so common in tourist attractions.
Put up displays in pet stores and veterinarian’s offices to get tons of pet portraits. Displays in ob/gyn offices can get you a lot of baby and family portraits and so on… Becoming a professional photographer just involves going where the customers hang out!
If you’ve said yes to all of the above – If you said yes to all of the above, then there is one last question: do you want to be in the photos? If so, then you need the technical capability and all is good. Otherwise, what you are really looking for is a professional. Do not worry! Even in relatively expensive locations such as New York, Los Angeles, or Tampa, there are always professional photographers willing to take amazing senior photos to fill those albums. A few dollars saved in return for fuzzy pictures that equate to poor recollections of the good times may not be a good decision.
